Talisman International Promotes Thomas Magette to President

Thomas MagetteUniversity of Tennessee Nuclear Engineering graduate Thomas Magette has been promoted by Talisman International to the position of Talisman president.

Magette joined Talisman as a consultant in 2017 and had then taken on the role of Director for Strategic Development and Operations earlier this year. He brings more than 40 years of experience managing and conducting work in the nuclear industry, both commercial and federal. Most recently, Magette has focused on supporting the nuclear industry in strategic planning for the decommissioning of plants that were deemed uneconomical to continue operating. Previously, he worked to develop first-of-a-kind approaches to nuclear power plant decommissioning, disposal of unique low-level radioactive waste streams, regulation of low-level radioactive waste disposal and processing facilities, and licensing of nuclear power plants and nuclear waste transportation casks.

Talisman is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Enercon Services, Inc (ENERCON). Through this corporate relationship, we are able to offer our clients a unique, comprehensive approach to solve complex and difficult problems, coupling the regulatory and management consulting expertise within Talisman with our engineering and environmental resources from ENERCON.

Magette looks forward to the opportunity of making Talisman an even more valuable partner to our clients in helping them develop economically sound, regulatory-compliant business management strategies. He will be supported in these efforts by our outgoing president, Thomas Heitman, as well as his predecessor Mike Hutsell, both of whom continue to be actively engaged in Talisman business activities. With this enhanced leadership team, the business will continue its history of providing invaluable support to the nuclear industry including operating plants, plants undergoing or transitioning to decommissioning, the nuclear fuel supply community, federal weapons manufacturing facilities, and others.

Talisman specializes in providing support to licensees that are addressing complex issues before the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), the NRC Agreement States Program, and the US Department of Energy. Principal areas of expertise include regulatory assistance, security, litigation, and expert witness testimony.
