Upadhyaya Receives Engineering Asset Management Lifetime Achievement Award

Belle Upadhyaya.Professor Emeritus Belle Upadhyaya received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the International Society of Engineering Asset Management (ISEAM) during the 15th World Congress on Engineering Asset Management in August. The three-day virtual congress was organized by the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil, with Professor and UT alumnus Joao Pinto (’01) as the congress chair.

“We are very proud of Belle’s achievements and excellent reputation in the field as an emeritus professor whose pursuit of excellence in nuclear engineering is well regarded,” said Department Head Wes Hines.

“This Lifetime Achievement Award is made possible by many, including colleagues, students, staff, and family,” said Upadhyaya. “I am grateful for this honor.”

A Fellow of ISEAM, Upadhyaya has published over 380 articles in scientific journals and conference proceedings, chapters in handbooks, is the author or co-author of over 150 research reports, and the co-author of a book titled Dynamics and Control of Nuclear Reactors, published by Elsevier-Academic Press.

His field of expertise includes instrumentation and control, reactor dynamics, advanced digital signal processing, reliability and maintainability engineering, and more.
