Biography

Mackenzie M. Warwick is a Teaching Assistant Professor in the Department of Nuclear Engineering at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She earned her PhD, MSE, and BSE in nuclear engineering and radiological sciences from the University of Michigan. Prior to joining UT, she spent five years as a student intern at Idaho National Laboratory, where she contributed to the Fusion Safety Program and the Advanced Manufacturing and Materials Technologies (AMMT) Program. At UT, she teaches courses in nuclear engineering, radiological engineering, materials science, and radiation detection laboratories, while also supporting Kโ€“12 outreach programs that introduce students to nuclear engineering. Dr. Warwick is an active member of the American Nuclear Society, U.S. Women in Nuclear, the OECD Nuclear Energy Agencyโ€™s Global Forum, The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society (TMS), and the Materials Research Society (MRS). She has served in numerous leadership, mentoring, and professional service roles dedicated to workforce development and the advancement of the nuclear profession. Her contributions to education, leadership, and service have been recognized through several national and international honors, including selection to the OECD-NEA International Rising Stars Program and the University of Michigan's Rackham Graduate School Outstanding Graduate Student Instructor Award and Richard and Eleanor Towner Prize for Outstanding Graduate Student Instructors.
