UT Nuclear Engineering Department Head Wes Hines spoke about jobs in the nuclear energy field at the US Capitol in Washington, DC on March 7. He was one of four panelists invited to speak at the event, which is hosted monthly by the Department of Energy’s Office of Nuclear Energy to focus on bi-partisan Hill engagement.

“College graduates are the future of nuclear engineering, and we’re proud that our graduates continue to advance the field,” said Hines. “We have learned that focusing on how our program is structured is making a difference in the quality and quantity of nuclear engineers who are able to fill much needed jobs in a growing field.”

The other panelists included Bo Feng, principal nuclear engineer at Argonne Laboratories; Carol Berrigan, general manager and Nuclear Energy Institute; and Chris Colbert, chief strategy officer for NuScale Power.
