Khalid Hattar, an associate professor in the Department of Nuclear Engineering, has been named a 2025 ASM International Fellow for his groundbreaking technical advances in the fields of in-situ ion irradiation electron microscopy and radiation damage effects in engineering and electronic materials.
Hattar will receive his award at the International Materials, Applications, and Technologies (IMAT) annual meeting on Oct. 21 in Detroit, Michigan.
ASM International is a professional association for materials engineers and scientists. ASM established the Fellow of the Society honor in 1969 to provide recognition to members for their distinguished contributions to materials science and engineering, and to develop a broadly based forum of technical and professional leaders to serve as advisors to the society.
