HITES12 2018

HITES12 2018Rising high school seniors Brie Jarret, Yael Garcia, and Christian Brown spent part of the week of July 8-13 working with Lawrence Heilbronn, Scott Emert, and Bradley Balltrip on a project to work with and test remote sensing robots used to find and locate hidden radioactive materials.

They did a great job in characterizing and quantifying our first-generation robot’s abilities, as well as provide suggestions for the next generation.

The project was part of their activities in the Tickle College of Engineering’s HITES12 program, a program that the Nuclear Engineering Department has participated in since its inception.

We thank Brie, Yael, and Christian for spending part of their summer with us, and look forward to seeing great things from them in the future!
