Nuclear Engineering Associate Professor Ilja Popovs and Assistant Professor Alex Ivanov were both involved in projects that received a prestigious 2026 R&D 100 Award.

Associate Professor and the Pietro F. Pasqua Faculty Fellow Ilja Popovs has been elected a foreign member of the Latvian Academy of Sciences.

Ilja Popovs will join the NE faculty this fall, using his expertise molecular engineering to isolate important radioisotopes for energy production and medicine.
